Water of Hope

Beneficiaries — 100 people
Access to clean drinking water remains one of the greatest challenges in rural areas. Water of Hope is tackling this issue head-on by installing purification systems, drilling wells, and educating communities on hygiene. Through innovation and strategic partnerships, the project ensures a long-term supply of safe water, strengthening local resilience and empowering residents to manage their water resources effectively. This initiative is paving the way for healthier communities and a brighter, more sustainable future.
The Water of Hope project is dedicated to improving access to clean water for the residents of Kerora Village, located on Rinca Island, near Komodo National Park. The impacts of this project are numerous.
- Better Health – By reducing waterborne diseases, the project significantly enhances public health.

Partnership between Give a Hand and Yellow Boat Indonesia
This project marks the first collaboration between Give a Hand and the Indonesian branch of Yellow Boat. We are proud to launch this initiative in such a remote region, particularly in Kerora Village, where access to clean water can transform lives.

Yellow Boat of Hope Indonesia
The Yellow Boat Indonesia Foundation (Yayasan Perahu Kuning Harapan) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving education access for children in remote and underserved areas. By providing boats, the foundation ensures that children can safely travel to school without being forced to leave their families. The initiative began in 2015 under the name School Boat Indonesia, after Meralda, co-founder, discovered the hardships faced by children in the coastal community of Kerora Village on Rinca Island. With no reliable transportation, many students had to relocate away from their families to attend high school. In June 2023, School Boat Indonesia achieved a major milestone by becoming an officially registered foundation and an official chapter of the Yellow Boat of Hope organization in the Philippines. “I am incredibly grateful to Give A Hand for sponsoring the Water of Hope project in Kerora Village on Rinca Island. Their support has transformed lives by providing access to clean, reliable water for underprivileged families. This project has improved health, opened up educational opportunities, and brought hope for a brighter future. Thanks to Give A Hand, families now have the essential resource they need to thrive.” Meralda Adams
