Change a life Women Rofé Project

Area — Women's empowerment
Beneficiaries — 300 women from various provinces across Colombia
In 2021, the Rofé Foundation launched the Rofé Women Program, a virtual community for women designed to address the economic and emotional isolation brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. This initiative aims to empower women by enhancing their skills, fostering economic independence, and integrating them into the entrepreneurial ecosystem. By doing so, the network seeks to transform their social reality and contribute to building a more equitable and democratic society.
The Rofé Women Program supports participants through four key pillars:
- NETWORKING: connecting women from across Colombia to share experiences, offer mutual support, and access guidance from renowned professionals, and strengthening bonds between women facing similar challenges while pursuing common aspirations.
- OPPORTUNITIES: Providing access to work opportunities, grants, scholarships, and resources that promote women’s rights and advocacy.
- TRAINING: Offering workshops, training sessions, and conferences focused on personal growth and entrepreneurial skills. Topics include financial management, social media strategies, and essential tools for modern entrepreneurship.
- ENTREPRENEURSHIP: Offering access to personalized mentoring and coaching sessions (up to three 45-minute sessions with professional experts), and guidance for developing business plans and connections to funding sources for new ventures or business revitalization.

Leadership, training programs, and networking for Colombian women with Fundacion Rofé

Fundacion Rofé
Founded in 2018 by private sector professionals, the Rofé Foundation - Change a Life is dedicated to combating poverty and inequality. Its mission is to provide vulnerable populations with opportunities for a dignified future through access to employment and sustainable development initiatives. The foundation works with disadvantaged women and youth, often from families with an average monthly income of less than USD $250. For these individuals, pursuing higher education or securing formal employment is often an unattainable goal, perpetuating cycles of poverty. Through its programs, the Rofé Foundation seeks to break this cycle by equipping communities with the tools they need to transform their lives and surroundings. “We are thrilled to collaborate with Give a Hand! This partnership empowers us to strengthen the Mujeres Rofé community and advance our mission of promoting self-sufficiency, well-being, and economic growth among vulnerable communities. Together, we are creating a lasting impact in the lives of thousands of women heads of households across Colombia.” Ana Velásquez- Director
