Cochabamba — Bolivia

Music and Orchestra for a healthy development (phase 1)

String orchestra project in vulnerable communities

Beneficiaries — 30 boys and girls

Foundation Estrellas en la Calle (Stars in the Street) is a new partner organization of Give a Hand. It responds to the needs of street children and young people living in poverty and vulnerability. The project includes instrumental individual training, theory classes, orchestral group practices and concert performances. Nutritious snacks during practices and concerts will contribute to improve their nutrition. Youth participation in an orchestra not only involves the acquisition of new skills but is also builds confidence, self-assurance, perseverance, constancy and concentration for young people who otherwise would be tempted to drop out of school or end up on the streets.

Partnership Give a Hand and Fundación Estrellas en la Calle

Victor Hugo Arellano Soto and Alejandro Montecinos, two members of the Board of directors of Fundación Estrellas en la Calle, testify with great enthusiasm to the positive effects of learning music for children and young people from underprivileged backgrounds. For Monde par la Main – Give a Hand, it’s a beautiful way to impact the artistic development of these youngsters and improve their diets.

‘’Fundacion Estrellas en la Calle develops care and prevention programs for young people at risk and living on the streets. For us helping is loving.”
