Antsirabe — Madagascar

Hope for street children in Madagascar

Psychosocial support program for children’s reintegration

Area — Special projects

Beneficiaries — 50 children

This year Grandir Ailleurs in Antsirabe wishes to implement a project whose main objective is to contribute to the socio-professional and/or family reintegration of the children in the temporary accommodation centre by providing them and/or their families with material and/or financial support until they gradually acquire complete autonomy. Targeted training and support for the children and their families will be provided by the temporary accommodation centre workers.

Thanks to the support of Give a Hand, approximately 50 children from the temporary accommodation centre for street children in Antsirabe will be able to benefit from a socio-professional and/or family reintegration program. This program will act as a lever to offer vocational training and schooling to help the children involved in their reintegration.

Partnership Give a Hand and Grandir Ailleurs

Since 2017, Give a Hand supports the projects of the organization Grandir Ailleurs in Madagascar. Our first project supported by the organization was to offer a music program as well as comic book-cartoon creation workshops in order to allow youths from the temporary accommodation centre to tell their stories. This year, we continue with a permaculture and organic fruit and vegetable growing project, as well as a socio-professional reintegration program.

Grandir Ailleurs is above all a collective success that has come about thanks to the investment and quality work of those present. Alone, you can’t achieve anything in life.

— Mr. Jean Christophe Naal- Founder

Founder and director of the Fédération Grandira, Mr. Jean Christophe Naal and his wife Sapho Naal, have observed that tourism can be a wonderful development tool for a series of projects aimed at defending the fundamental rights of street children in Madagascar. In 2007, began the very first field project in Antsirabe. This will be the beginning of this beautiful adventure, which has been going on for thirteen years. The organization Grandir Ailleurs is now supervised by Ms. Laurie Andriamanarivo, project coordinator based in Antsirabe.
