Antsirabé — Madagascar

Permaculture and eco-garden in Antsirabé ( phase 2)

Sustainability and nutrition at the service of our community

Beneficiaries — 30 families

Give a Hand is proud to partner once again with Grandir Ailleurs and support a new project to help children who are homeless. In 2020, a pilot project to grow organic fruits and vegetables for the Temporary Daycare Center, in partnership was launched to train and sensitize street children to the techniques and benefits of organic farming. The results obtained were better than expected. As the measures taken in response to the pandemic have had a particularly brutal health and socio-economic impact in Madagascar, the project has helped the beneficiary children and their families to avoid falling into food insecurity. Thus, Grandir Ailleurs à Antsirabé wishes to develop and perpetuate this project on a larger scale

The support of Monde par la Main/ Give a Hand for this project is essential for Grandir Ailleurs in Antsirabé team considering the complicated context of the pandemic and the famine affecting the country. The context of the pandemic has led since the end of 2020, to a sharp increase in the cost of basic necessities.

Partnership Give a Hand and  Grandir Ailleurs,

Since 2017, Monde par la Main/ Give a Hand support the Grandir Ailleurs organization in Antsirabe, Madagascar. The first project we supported with the organization aimed to offer a music program as well as comic creation workshops to enable the youth at the temporary accommodation center to tell their stories. We are delighted to continue our partnership with Grandir Ailleurs and by that to support the cause of the street children in Madagascar.

Grandir Ailleurs is above all a collective success. Thanks to the quality of investment and work of the people.

— M. Jean Christophe Naal, Founder

Founder and director of the Fédération Grandira, Mr. Jean Christophe Naal and his wife Sapho Naal, have observed that tourism can be a wonderful development tool for a series of projects aimed at defending the fundamental rights of street children in Madagascar. In 2007, began the very first field project in Antsirabe. This will be the beginning of this beautiful adventure, which has been going on for thirteen years. The organization Grandir Ailleurs is now supervised by Ms. Laurie Andriamanarivo, project coordinator based in Antsirabe.
