Vocational Training in Industrial Sewing for Nepali women

Area — Women's empowerment
Beneficiaries — 8 young women
The Nepal Youth Foundation (NYF) runs a vocational training program in industrial sewing for 75 Nepalese women, divided into three groups of 25. This project fully supports the 6-month training for 8 women, equipping them with the skills needed for a sustainable career.
During the first three months, participants live in a secure dormitory on the Olgapuri campus. They then transition to a three-month paid apprenticeship at a factory in Kathmandu, where they also benefit from free accommodation. Around 90% of graduates secure employment in safe and ethical factories within six months of completing the program. Most participants come from subsistence farming families or are survivors of gender-based violence and human trafficking. By providing them with in-demand skills and knowledge of their legal rights, the program empowers them economically and helps them integrate into the job market.

We are thrilled to partner with this organization to support the empowerment of vulnerable Nepalese women. We strongly believe that the success of this project will create lasting, positive change for both the participants and their families.
