Guatemala

Economic and social development of Guatemalan women

Skills development, financial literacy and psychosocial support program

Beneficiaries — 200 women

This program led by Creamos will allow participants to attend a one-year training program on leadership, skills development, and financial literacy. An advanced program will also be offered to the most enthusiast participants (community leaders or “Promotoras”) likely to act as agents of change in their communities. They will then become facilitators in groups they will train in the communities they’re living in. The skills development program will offer basic and advanced sewing workshops, silkscreen, and printing workshops as well as jewelry creation made from recycled materials.

Thanks to the support of Monde par la main/ Give a Hand, more than 200 women will learn new skills related to sewing, silkscreen printing, jewelry creation made from recycled materials and will receive a formation in financial literacy. This program aims to offer important tools and support to all the participants.

Partnership between Give a Hand and Creamos:

Creamos is a social enterprise founded in 2008, that is directly addressing the issues of extreme poverty, domestic violence, low self-esteem, and the increasing precariousness in this community. We are proud to support Creamos since 2017 through different projects empowering women in this community.

We create our own future
